MDBA
Murray-Darling Basin Authority
The MDBA sets allocations to balance environmental, agricultural, and community needs.
The agency regulates Sustainable Diversion Limits (SDMLs) by setting the maximum volume of water that can be extracted annually for consumptive use (e.g., irrigation, urban supply) while maintaining the ecological health of the Basin. This involves monitoring compliance with SDLs, working with state governments, and adjusting limits based on climatic conditions, and scientific evidence.
MDBA will benefit from anonymous data fra Decentralized Mechanisms
Stockpile Hydration's Decentralized Mechanisms can increase transparency in trading zones, allowing for more accurate aggregate estimates of water volumes which, in return, may reduce SDLMs to increase for for productive use.
